Purpose:

This indefinite policy addresses issues and concerns that have emerged due to COVID-19 to lessen the impact on our applicants and students. Beginning in March 2020, the Colorado Department of Higher Education began to release guidance on course grading and allowing students to opt into a Pass/Fail option. This temporary policy in line with State of Colorado guidance regarding acceptance of Passing (P) and Satisfactory (S) grades during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Policy:

This policy applies to all applicants with collegiate level credit from an state institutions of higher education and is effective April 1st, 2020 for all Passing (P) and Satisfactory (S) grades earned during the Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 terms.

  • Colorado State University Global will suspend the requirement that all Passing (P) and Satisfactory (S) grades be indicated on a transcript key as equivalent to a C- (70%) or higher, and may accept all Passing (P) and Satisfactory (S) grades presented by an applicant on an official college transcript.

Procedure:

  • The Transcript Evaluation Team will complete all evaluations and transfer of credit during the normal evaluation process.
  • Appeals of transfer credit or decisions regarding Pass/Fail grade acceptance will follow the normal transfer credit appeals process as outlined in the University Catalog.
  • Office of the Registrar in collaboration with Sr. Leadership will review this temporary policy in August 2020 to determine if any further extensions or exceptions need to be made.
