A non-degree-seeking student enrolls in individual courses without intending to complete a full degree program. At CSU Global, we find there are three main reasons people choose this path: 

1. Completing Professional-School Prerequisites: It's a strategic choice for individuals aiming for nursing school, medical school, pharmacy school, or other professional schools, allowing them to complete their prerequisites efficiently.
2. Experiencing CSU Global Firsthand: Taking individual courses is a great way to explore whether CSU Global is the right university for you. We pride ourselves on being transfer-friendly and crafting a curriculum that caters to the needs of working adults seeking to advance into high-demand careers. 
3. Fast-Tracking Undergraduate Degree Completion: If you’re having trouble getting into required classes at your current university, our individual courses offer you the ability to stay on track toward your undergraduate degree or to accelerate your degree completion. CSU Global Direct courses are accredited through the Higher Learning Commission, and we recommend checking with your selected institution regarding transfer credit to ensure a smooth transition.

The deadline for non-degree seeking registration is at noon Mountain Time on the Thursday prior to each term start. Students who would like to register after this deadline can contact their Student Success counselor or email Student.Success [at] CSUGlobal.edu to inquire about scheduling options.

Non-degree-seeking (NDS) status offers the opportunity to take courses at CSU Global without the commitment to a degree or certificate — but if you later on decide to pursue one, you’re welcome to apply for admittance as a degree- or certificate-seeking student. 

Applications for degree-seeking status are accepted for the next available term after the admissions criteria have been met. To be eligible for admission to a degree or certificate program, NDS students must meet current admission standards and documentation requirements. Please refer to the current academic catalog for admission requirements to undergraduate and graduate degree programs. 

Non-degree-seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. If you later decide to apply as a degree-seeking student, our enrollment team is available and eager to help you kickstart or complete your CSU Global journey and serve as a resource for scholarships and financial aid.
