Pursuing your education in an online learning environment comes with some great perks – a flexible schedule, affordable tuition, and expert faculty – just to name a few. If you’re new to online learning, you might be surprised at how engaging and truly interactive the experience can be!
CSU Global isn't just another traditional campus that jumped into online education because of necessity. Instead, we've grown with intentionality, and have been built with purpose for online excellence from day one. Our programs are optimized for a 100% online learning experience, and we’ve continued to provide the highest quality virtual, yet interactive, education for more than a decade.
The benefits of a CSU Global education speak for themselves:
Not all online degrees are created equally. That's why it's so important to research a college or university's accreditation prior to enrolling.
Accreditation is awarded to institutes of higher learning by an independent, external group of auditors who confirm that the college or university in question keeps their promises to students.
CSU Global has earned regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Regional accreditation is highly regarded around the world because it’s a comprehensive, peer-reviewed process that ensures a consistent standard of quality for higher education institutions. CSU Global is proud to be one of the few regionally accredited online universities.
Another reason accreditation is so important is because employers respect degrees (online or otherwise) from institutions that they recognize positively. An unaccredited degree could be questioned by potential employers or future educational institutions, should you want to continue your studies at a different university.
In addition to its regional accreditation, CSU Global is part of the world-renowned CSU System, which means you are earning your degree from an institution employers already know, trust, and recognize.
In an online university, technology is what connects you to instructors, coursework, and peers. CSU Global’s faculty are specially trained to teach in a dynamic, asynchronous learning environment, which gives way to a versatile learning experience.
Students interact with classmates and instructors every week through online discussion boards. Valuable conversations and discussions still occur, but at a pace that works for each individual student. The online format can allow for more thoughtful responses than you might get in an in-person classroom environment.
The majority of courses include critical thinking assignments and exercises, portfolio projects, and required discussion contribution.

The difference between a "regionally accredited" and "nationally accredited" school is very important when choosing the institution you will attend. Regional accreditation is highly regarded around the world because it’s a comprehensive, peer-reviewed process that ensures a consistent standard of quality for higher education institutions. It is rooted in the history of traditional brick-and-mortar colleges and universities, and CSU Global is proud to be one of the few regionally accredited online universities.
Regional accreditation standards require that up to one-third of a degree program’s curriculum includes general education courses in social, natural and physical sciences, English, math, humanities, and art. Colleges and universities that are regionally accredited usually only accept transfer credits or degrees from other regionally accredited institutions.
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The HLC accredits, and thereby grants membership to, educational institutions in the North Central region: Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. The HLC is recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The HLC has designed the accreditation process to achieve its mission: Serving the common good by assuring and advancing the quality of higher education.
HLC accreditation is based on the thorough evaluation and fulfillment of five specific criteria:
Our accredited online degree programs include undergraduate degrees, master's degrees, and certificates of completion programs with the academic standards of a state university.
CSU Global offers 15 undergraduate programs, which lead to Bachelor of Science degrees and 16 graduate-level degree programs, including both academic Master of Science and professional focused Master programs.
Our admissions requirements reflect both the academic quality of our institution and our commitment to student-centered excellence.
For undergraduate programs, offers of admission may be granted to applicants who:
For graduate programs, applicants are eligible for admission if they have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. An undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.00 or better (on a 4.00 scale) is preferred. For those applicants with an undergraduate GPA lower than 3.00, a graduate degree (or higher) GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) can also be used for admission. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.00 may apply for Provisional Admission. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA lower than 3.00 and a graduate GPA lower than a 3.00 may also apply for Provisional Admission.

While it is a big commitment, choosing a major will not dictate the rest of your life – you can always change your mind and explore other options.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average adult in their 20s will switch jobs once every three years, and the average person will change careers two or three times in their lifetime. Don't worry if you aren't sure about what you want to be when you grow up, even if you're already grown up.

As a not-for-profit public university, our goal at CSU Global is to make your online tuition as affordable as possible. We offer low-cost online degree tuition rates without taking anything away from the quality of the education you receive. We also lock in that low tuition rate with our tuition guarantee, and we provide additional discounted tuition rates for members of the armed forces and employees of our corporate affiliate partners.
For nearly 10 years we’ve maintained our affordable tuition rates, while the national average continues to grow by 8% each year. As a CSU Global student, you’ll never fall victim to surprise student fees – we just don’t have any!
That being said, we know it can be a struggle to cover the costs of getting a bachelor’s or master’s degree. CSU Global financial aid counselors are available to help you understand all of your financial aid options. In addition to scholarships, grants, loans, and other programs, there are many options available to help manage your educational expenses.
Completing your degree program online can take significantly less time than at a traditional brick-and-mortar campus… or it could take a bit longer. It depends on your pace and schedule.
CSU Global offers every course, every trimester in accelerated eight-week increments. Students can quickly complete courses when you’re ready, rather than having to wait a full semester or trimester for a course to be available.
At CSU Global, time-to-completion also depends on how many transfer credits a student can apply toward their degree. We are committed to accepting as many transfer credits as possible, including community college credits and alternative credit options.
Competency Based Exams and Prior Learning Assessments can also be used to get credit for your non-collegiate work and/or life experience that proves your proficiency in a certain area of study.
Speak with an enrollment counselor directly or use our Transfer Estimates to get an estimate of how many of your past credits can transfer to your current degree goals.
