May 2015

Here she is celebrating last year with some of her closest (non-feathered) friends.  In our opinion, she’s hardly aged at all.

Additionally, CSU Global celebrated a few milestones as well:

  • We introduced the Go Colorado Scholarship, available to eligible Colorado residents, covering $65 per credit hour for their first 24 undergraduate credits, or $65 per credit hour for their first 18 graduate credit hours. You can view a complete list of current scholarship opportunities here.
  • For the fifth year in a row, CSU Global was the proud title sponsor of KBCO’s Teacher of the Year. Listeners were encouraged to teachers who went above and beyond, recognizing them for their hard work. You can check out the winners here.
  • We also revamped the Student Career Center, adding program-specific resume templates and Career Coach biographies, among other great improvements.

June 2015

Goldie was thrilled to attend Commencement, with over 500 graduates walking, and over 5,000 friends and family members of our graduates in attendance.  We also had around 300 viewers around the world tuning in to watch the event online, in the university’s very first live Commencement stream! This was also the month in which we launched our new slogan, “You’re Already on Campus,” with a new TV commercial that you can view here.  And it’s true!  Wherever you are, an internet connection is all you need to take classes at CSU Global.

July 2015

Goldie attended the 3rd Annual CSU Global Golf Tournament, benefiting The First Tee of Denver. CSU Global was also the title sponsor of Celebrate Colorado Day, an event honoring Colorado’s 139th birthday.  We had a great turnout, and were proud to celebrate the great state that we call home!

August 2015

This was another busy month for CSU Global, especially when it comes to Degree Optimization. We introduced Degree Optimization to our programs so that students could take advantage of the knowledge, skills, and abilities they hone along the way to earning their degrees. We worked with hiring managers and employers to create these sets of Awards of Completion and Skills Endorsements specifically tailored to our degree programs. Every time a student completes a series of courses that promote their understanding in a particular skill set, they will earn an Award of Completion that demonstrates their proficiency in that area. It was a great, innovative new way for CSU Global to support students in their professional development, and we’ve had great feedback since!

September 2015

In September CSU Global continued with its commitment to students’ professional development by organizing the first-ever Virtual School to Work Career Fair.  We hosted live sessions, resume reviews, career coaching events, and much more. CSU Global also launched its new library, with clearer navigation, better descriptions of our collections and services, expanded instructional guidance based on best practices, improved mobile device performance, and ADA compliance.

October 2015

snow boarding goldie

Goldie took to the slopes as part of our partnership to bring skiers the Snow Report for all of the major ski areas in Colorado! Meanwhile, at CSU Global, we divided our Student Advisors into two teams:  Undergraduate Advising and Graduate Advising.  This helped our advisors to increase their ability to provide great service to all of our students by advising on a smaller number of programs. While it was a small change that resulted in an even more focused and supportive experience for students!

November 2015

In November Goldie celebrated Thanksgiving the same way she does every year:  very carefully… she wouldn’t want to be confused with a turkey. We also received the great news that CSU Global was #11 on the Denver Business Journal’s list of Colorado’s largest colleges and universities!  That’s an increase from #16 the previous year. CSU Global also concluded a comprehensive review of our academic programs conducted by Programmatic Advisory Boards (PABs) that consisted of industry professionals.  This process helps us to keep every one of our programs current, with relevant teachings that will prepare students for the workforce.

December 2015

Goldie embraced her charitable side by assisting the Salvation Army at several bell ringing events in Denver.  The holidays bring out the best in her! At CSU Global we kept busy as well!

January 2016

goldie new year

Goldie rang in the new year with some close friends! Meanwhile, CSU Global awarded a Gift of Education Scholarship, which covers 100% of all tuition for the duration of a degree program, to Jami Nelson. We were also the proud title sponsor of the Denver7 New Year, New You Expo for 2016, which brought nearly 2,000 Coloradans expert advice, guidance, and support for making and keeping new year’s resolutions. Additionally, Student Advising introduced their new Student Advising Promise, outlining their commitment to CSU Global students, and providing a reminder of the stellar support that they offer to every student, every day.

February 2016

VDay goldie

Valentine’s Day always helps Goldie to get in touch with her romantic side! We also hit a great milestone at CSU Global:  We now have over 450 faculty members teaching our courses!  This results in smaller class sizes and increased direct interaction between students and instructors.  As our number of active students continue to grow, we make sure to increase the size of our faculty as well, adhering to our mission of providing academic excellence.

March 2016

Goldie trained hard for her appearance at the Runnin’ of the Green, a family-oriented run/walk. At CSU Global, the Student Support team became the Office of Tuition Planning. Our tuition planning specialists are trained in all financing options, and they help students understand how they will pay for their program before they begin their courses. Their ultimate goal is to help students understand how to make their education affordable.

April 2016

Goldie celebrated the opening of the 61st & Peña light rail station. There was a lot of excitement in the air, as this station now allows travelers to take the train directly to Denver International Airport!  Between 15,000 and 20,000 people showed up to celebrate with her! We also filmed some great new short videos featuring Goldie, which we look forward to sharing very soon!  You can view the first one here.  Be sure to like the CSU Global Facebook page for more! Additionally, CSU Global joined hundreds of local students, government officials, community leaders, and education providers at the national launch of Skillful. Skillful is a new career platform, creates collaboration between educational providers, job seekers, and companies. The most innovative aspect of this partnership is the LinkedIn training finder, which creates a direct link between jobs, skills, and employers. This tool allows job seekers to view current openings, skills required, and educational programs for the required skills. It has been a year full of fun and accomplishment.  Goldie is looking forward to making many more memories in the years so come! FAST GOLDIE FACTS
