Our Advising Promise: How Student Support Defines the CSU-Global Journey

A word from Student Advisor, Sara Moulton, about her team’s commitment to students through their Student Advising Promise.

Being a non-traditional student is no easy task, but here at CSU Global we have a unique mix of technology, people, and programs which work together to support you throughout your degree program. Your Student Advisor will be your go-to person to help you facilitate the many aspects that make up your CSU Global experience.

As a new student you are introduced to a self-directed learning environment that includes interaction with your instructors and peers, critical thinking assignments, discussion boards, and research papers.

On top of your schoolwork, you also need to be sure that you are following policies and procedures, taking the right classes, and making sure your education expenses are taken care of.

It’s a lot to take in, and that’s why every student is assigned a dedicated Student Advisor, a person with knowledge and experience specific to your degree path, who is there to help you every step of the way.

Your Student Advisor will be your greatest ally in your educational journey at CSU Global. As the main point of contact for students, we are here to help you with reminders, encouragement, direction, and guidance.

More specifically, we are here to answer your questions about financial aid, course registration, policies and processes, support services, and alternative credit options.

With all of these things in mind, our team wrote the Student Advising Promise. We wanted to share it with you, as this is what guides everything we do in order to help you succeed.

As a collaborative partner in your education, your Student Advisor will:

  • Be a champion for you at CSU Global by celebrating successes, having honest dialogue about challenges, and advocating for you across the University.
  • Work to anticipate roadblocks on your educational path and present guidance, options, and assistance to help you avoid or navigate them.
  • Provide you timely, accurate information – if we don’t know the answer, we will find it for you.
  • Respond to all emails and calls within one business day.
