Online Master’s in Cybersecurity

This course provides insight into the complex implementation and management of cybersecurity practices. Students perform risk assessments and recommend mitigations to protect digital assets in the workplace as well as discuss disaster recovery, incident handling, cyber security policy implementation, privacy, and legal issues related to cybersecurity.

This course provides students with the opportunity to explore and examine emerging trends and technology in cybersecurity. Students analyze organizations and review the feasibility of adopting new cybersecurity trends in order to provide competitive advantages in the workplace. This course also evaluates necessary policy and procedure changes within the context of the continued evolution of technology. Prerequisite: ISM501

The Cybersecurity Defense and Countermeasures course prepares students to defend enterprise networks from web based and internal attacks using techniques such as system hardening, encryption, policy enforcement and software/hardware intrusion detection systems to protect enterprise data assets.

Information Technology Governance course provides insights into IT framework and the strategy of implementing governance within the IT framework. The governance framework includes information asset lifecycle, legal and regulatory compliance, and aligning governance with organizations objective.

This course focuses on determining privacy requirement and implementing strategies to protect data. Students will learn to assess, build, and implement security solutions that incorporates data privacy. Students will also learn about privacy policies, legal requirement and how it impacts data protection strategies.

This course focuses on advanced digital forensics and investigation tools and techniques. Students will learn about digital forensics techniques and how to apply these techniques in IT infrastructure including memory forensics and file system forensics. Students will also learn about proper method of handling forensic data and evidence and its impact in legal procedure and IT auditing.

This course provides students with a foundation and understanding of IT auditing services used in midsized to large organizations. Students will focus on security, integrity, and availability of information systems while integrating financial, performance, and operational auditing and assurance services.

This course presents a broad overview of possible issues and dangers that can compromise information systems in the workplace. Students learn the roles, responsibilities, and essential tools needed by IT Managers to secure an organization's data and operations.

This course focuses on cybersecurity risk management in the context of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. Students will learn to identify risks across technical, organizational, and regulatory domains, and apply industry standard frameworks to mitigate security threats. Emphasis is placed on evaluating ethical and regulatory implications, and assessing AI systems for compliance with global standards of fairness, accountability, and transparency. Students will develop the skills to balance innovation with resilience, preparing them to lead in environments where technology, governance, and ethics converge.

In this capstone course, students will demonstrate mastery of the competencies developed throughout the Master’s in Cybersecurity program. Students will assess cybersecurity posture and develop a comprehensive strategy that addresses enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, and digital governance in the AI era. Students will design a security architecture plan, evaluate incident response protocols, and propose governance frameworks aligned with NIST standards. The capstone project will include risk assessment, governance and compliance roadmap, and impact of AI in cybersecurity strategies.
