CSU Global’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program lets you demonstrate your knowledge in specific areas to earn college credit for what you already know. Whether you gained this knowledge through another educational program, independent study, or life experience, we want to give you credit for it.
The “non-resident” credits earned through the PLA program can be applied to your undergraduate degree at CSU Global after proving you’ve already acquired the targeted learning outcomes of a particular course.
Take advantage of PLAs to save 75% on CSU Global’s already low tuition rates!
Start by reviewing the learning objectives for each course in your program of study. If you feel confident that you’ve already gained the skills outlined in the course, complete the PLA application and the following materials for consideration:
To be eligible for the PLA program, students must have four years of related work experience. You must have also successfully completed three standard classes with CSU Global before becoming eligible for PLA credits.
Degree-seeking students can earn up to 30 PLA credits. The credits earned through PLA apply to the 90 total transfer credits accepted by CSU Global. Learn more about transfer info.
PLA credits may be accepted for transfer by other institutions, at their discretion. If you plan to transfer, check with your intended institution before you begin the PLA program.
“CSU Global offers a PLA program that allowed me to use my 25 years of experience to ‘test out’ of courses. This saved me time and allowed me to earn my degree in a shorter time period. The instructor was available and supportive throughout the process.”
