Military & Veteran Students

CSU Global offers many of the benefits associated with military-focused online universities, including reduced military tuition, credit for eligible military training, flexible online classes, and support using military and veteran education benefits.

One important difference is the type of institution behind the degree. Some of the largest online universities serving military students are for-profit institutions owned by education companies. CSU Global is a public, nonprofit state university and part of the Colorado State University System. Military-affiliated students receive a CSU System degree, 100% online eight-week classes, monthly start dates, $0 student fees, and personalized help with transfer credit, education benefits, enrollment, and staying on track through graduation.

Before choosing a university, look beyond its name or military benefits. Search for the school in the U.S. Department of Education’s College Navigator to see whether it is public, private nonprofit, or private for-profit. You can also review the university’s accreditation page, academic catalog, and legal disclosures to identify its accreditor, owner, and any parent company.

The right university depends on your program, benefits, transfer credits, and total cost. CSU Global is a strong choice for students who want military-specific support backed by an established public university system.

Military-connected students follow the same general admissions process as other CSU Global applicants: apply, submit official records, complete a credit evaluation, review your degree plan, and enroll. Your enrollment counselor can guide you through each step and identify any military-specific records or documents you need to submit.

Required documents depend on your program and academic history. You may need to submit official high school, GED, college, or university transcripts, along with records documenting your military education and training. Your enrollment counselor will help you determine which records apply to you.

Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard members and veterans can submit a Joint Services Transcript. Air Force and Space Force applicants can submit records from the Community College of the Air Force or Air University. You should also request official transcripts from every college or university you previously attended.

Possibly. CSU Global reviews eligible military education and training that has been evaluated under American Council on Education guidelines. How that credit applies depends on your records, degree program, and remaining requirements.

Bachelor’s degree students may transfer up to 90 eligible credits from previous college coursework, military education, professional training, and other approved sources. CSU Global completes a course-by-course review to determine which credits transfer and how they apply to your degree.

After you’re admitted and CSU Global receives your official records, your transcripts will generally be evaluated within 30 days of your admission decision. You’ll receive a degree plan showing the credits accepted, how they apply, and which requirements remain.

Yes. CSU Global courses are 100% online, with no required class meeting times or campus visits. You’ll need reliable internet access and the ability to meet weekly course deadlines. CSU Global offers monthly start dates and eight-week courses, so you don’t have to wait for a traditional semester. Most students take one course at a time, allowing them to focus on one subject while balancing service, work, and family responsibilities.
