Associate Degree Information

Students who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree from a Colorado Community College System institution, including gtPathways general education curriculum with a C- or higher, will transfer with junior standing. Students who have completed an A.A.S. degree from a Colorado Community College will be subject to a transfer credit evaluation of credit and the amount of transfer credit will vary (unless coming from an approved articulation agreement).

Students who have completed an A.A., A.S., A.A.S., or A.G.S. from a Community College outside of the Colorado Community College System will be subject to a course evaluation and the amount of transfer credit will vary.

If more than 60 college-level credits are taken or the student gets lower than a C- in one or more courses at the community/junior college, then some loss of transfer credit may occur, and students may not be able to complete this baccalaureate degree in 120 credits.

Transfer Before Completing Associate Degree

If the student intends to transfer prior to completing an A.A. or A.S. degree CSU Global advisors will explain and help prepare them for efficiently completing the designated major.

While not completing the required associate’s degree eliminates the above-described guarantee, all the individual general education courses are guaranteed to transfer and to apply toward fulfilling CSU Global general education requirements. Students are encouraged to finish course sequences (such as English Comp I & II or Calculus I, II & III) before transferring.

Guaranteed Transfer Information and Admissions

Per Colorado Commission on Higher Education (CCHE) Policy I, F that goes into effect in 2016, applicants who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree from a Colorado public community/junior college will be guaranteed admissions at all Colorado public baccalaureate awarding institutions, except Colorado School of Mines, provided the student meets the minimum transfer GPA standard, has completed all courses with a grade of C or better, and a two-year institution is the last institution attended prior to transfer.

Admissions to an institution does not guarantee enrollment in a specific degree program. Institutions may have controlled entry due either to space limitations or academic requirements.
