giving advice to online students

We recently asked our CSU Global Facebook page of over 7,000 friends to simply fill-in-the-blank. Here’s the prompt we posed…

My best advice for other online students is _________________________.

And that’s what we’re giving you today. Here’s what people had to say…

• Prioritize your time!! Don’t wait until the last minute.

• Take care of yourself and don’t stress too much. Pretty soon it will be over!

• Stay focused on your end goal, make it a plan for the week, and drink lots of coffee. You got this!

• Be patient with yourself. Don’t worry so much about grades. Focus on gaining the knowledge.

• Drink lots of strong coffee.

• Dig in and get the most out of the experience. Your success is up to you.

• You can do it!!!

• Be proactive about communicating with your professors. They don’t see you on a daily basis, and can’t help if they don’t know what’s going on. Also, if you don’t hear from your professor, work with your advisor and the faculty support office.

• Quitting is not an option. Stay engaged with the class and plan accordingly, you will do great things.

• Make time, stay focused and motivated. Don’t procrastinate.

• Follow a schedule to fit in family and school.

• Post early, post often! Stay engaged and show your passion!

• Keep your goal in front of you and never give up. Stretching is so worth the effort.

Following these tried and true tips from other online students can make accomplishing your educational goals easier. Focus on the end goal, push through the tough times, believe in your abilities, and there’s nothing you can’t do.

Take this with you as you celebrate the holidays and look toward new goals in 2017!
