Happy birthday, Goldie!
A little something for you in honor of Goldie’s birthday: We’re waiving the $25 application fee through May 31! Just use promo code GOLDIE when you apply during the month of May.

As our mascot celebrates another trip around the sun, we’re taking this special day, May 14, to take a closer look at her unwavering support and encouragement of CSU Global’s students and their noteworthy achievements.

Let’s learn a little more about our feathered friend and how she’s represented CSU Global over the years.

Credentials

At CSU Global, all undergraduate courses are taught by instructors who hold at least a master’s degree in a subject related to what they teach, and graduate instructors hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field. Goldie is no exception to the rule – she holds a Ph.D. (a pretty high degree) in Aviation with a specialization in Eyesight. If you need tips on proper utilization of a 6-foot wingspan, she’s the pro you can rely on.

Fun Fact: Despite her obvious superiority over basic farm fowl, Goldie graciously shares her birthday with National Chicken Dance Day.

Community Engagement

In August 2019, Goldie was on hand – sorry, on wing – to welcome Aurora Public Schools families at the annual APS Back to School event.

And, in 2018, Goldie introduced CSU Global to her friends at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program (RMRP), which helped raise awareness of the incredible work the organization does to rescue and rehabilitate nearly 300 birds of prey per year – including our cherished golden eagle. The RMRP educates individuals of all ages throughout Colorado about raptors and their importance to our ecosystem.

Goldie meets golden eagle

While COVID-19 is keeping us from celebrating our graduates in person this spring, Goldie can’t wait to log on to our virtual commencement ceremony on May 30. You can even wish her a belated happy birthday in the livestream chat!

All kidding aside – we like to think that golden eagles represent our students, with the same qualities of focus, courage, strength, and adaptability.

Fun Fact: Golden eagles are known to go into a stoop (or dive) at 150 miles per hour?

With more than 18,000 currently enrolled students, Goldie takes her job seriously. She has a big responsibility to uplift, encourage, and give all of us a virtual high five – particularly now, when we’re all a little more remote than usual.

Best wishes and happy birthday, Goldie! Thank you for continuously inspiring CSU Global students, faculty, and staff to spread their wings and soar every day.

Go Golden Eagles!
