Hello, my name is Dr. Lisa Lee Bryan, and I am the Program Chair for the Masters of Science in Data Analytics at CSU Global, a program that is scheduled to begin in the Spring A trimester.
I am excited that after many months of hard work — driven by our content experts, instructional designers, reviewers, multimedia developers, and leadership — we are now enrolling students for the Spring A start date in March, 2018 . This program prepares the student for a career in transforming data into information for businesses of all sizes.
In today’s business world, the problem is not collecting data but analyzing the data in large supply and making intelligent business decisions based on the information it provides. Tools like SAS, R, Python, Tableau, and SQL will be used to change massive quantities of data into information that will allow organizations to make decisions and remain competitive — and graduates of our program will be proficient in using these tools.
The outlook in the Data Analytics area is bright, according to industry leaders like IBM, with the career path expected to grow 28 percent by 2020. With the average pay at over $110,000 per year, the career path for data analytics is well above other careers in pay.
As a former Management Information Systems professional and consultant, I can attest that the skills taught in this program are designed to give you the ability to succeed in any size business — from your own consulting firm to a fortune 500 company. Industries like finance, health care, security, accounting, information technology, insurance, and manufacturing are gathering data and using predictive analysis to look into the future and prepare.
The CSU Global courses in M.S. Data Analytics program include data mining, business intelligence, business analytics, data analytics fundamentals, predictive analytics, data warehousing, and enterprise performance management.
Admission to our program requires a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Database Management, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and introductory courses or experience in programming, databases, and statistics will also be accepted. Graduates without these background areas will be allowed to enroll in the program after taking additional undergraduate courses to supplement their knowledge.
Take your next step toward becoming a leader in data analysis by enrolling in the Master of Science in Data Analytics program at CSU Global. Help business grow and stay ahead of the curve by providing them the information they need to make great decisions and stay competitive.
