In this role, Dr. Nerger will oversee the university’s academic efforts through high-quality and industry-relevant program design and delivery.

Dr. Nerger brings a wealth of experience within the Colorado State University System and a proven track record of excellence. Most recently, she served as an advisor to the Colorado State University System, working on critical strategic initiatives. She previously served as interim provost and vice president of academic affairs at CSU Fort Collins for two years, following a successful 12-year tenure as the Dean of the College of Natural Sciences where she led large and complex academic units. Her background is characterized by a dedication to advancing academic programs, driving institutional innovation, and supporting the success of faculty, staff, and students.

In addition to her professional achievements at CSU, Dr. Nerger was recognized as a Woman of Vision by the Colorado Women of Influence, served as president of the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences and a board member at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, named an Air Force ROTC Distinguished Educator, and served as an academic council member for the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Dr. Nerger earned a doctorate from the University of California, San Diego.
Her appointment provides steady leadership while the search for a permanent provost is conducted.
