Blog
Emily is the Marketing Associate at CSU Global and has worked here since July of 2013. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and as a child of two 3rd generation San Franciscans she is a devout San Francisco Giants fan and is a lover of all things Northern California. She attended Gonzaga University (who she will be fervently rooting for in this year’s NCAA tournament) where she earned her degree in business with a concentration in marketing. The highlight of her college experience was the year she spent living abroad in Florence, Italy. After college, Emily worked at a tech company in San Francisco until deciding to move to Colorado to pursue new and exciting adventures.
One of Emily’s primary tasks within the marketing team is managing CSU Global’s social media channels. This includes developing inspiring and useful content for our followers, sharing CSU Global news, and answering questions from current and prospective students may have about the university and its services. You may have had a question answered by her or seen her face show up on your news feed from time to time.
“Since we are not a traditional campus, social media is a great way for students to connect with each other and be an integral part of our community. I love that I am able to learn more about our students and their personal lives as well as play a part in their academic and professional success in a less formal way,” says Emily.
Social media contributes to CSU Global’s culture of student support. From our Facebook and Twitter pages to our LinkedIn university page and special groups for students and alumni, CSU Global can post announcements, provide networking opportunities, and share tips and advice. Just like the flexibility of our online classes allows you to earn your degree from anywhere, social media is a way to connect school to your daily lives.
In addition to monitoring all of CSU Global’s social platforms, Emily also administers the school store, serves as the university’s liaison for the alumni association, and has an active role in planning events like this year’s commencement ceremony.
Emily’s advice to current and future students: “Engage with us on social media! We want to hear your success stories, questions, and comments. With the power of these networks, you never know who else out there you might help or inspire. Plus, the more I learn about what you hope to get out of your time at CSU Global, the more I can help you achieve it.”
Just don’t expect an immediate response during the NCAA Tournament, especially if the ‘Zags are playing that day, you’ll know where Emily is then.
