Colorado State University Global
Press Release
Megan Schulze will be representing our student body at all CSU System Board meetings during the 2015-2016 academic year.
Congratulations to Megan Schulze who has been selected as CSU Global’s Board of Governor’s Student Representative. Megan (pronounced MEE-gan) moved to the United States at the age of twelve from her home country of Australia. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. While in California, she worked at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant and Advance Technology Services as a mechanical engineer for Pacific Gas & Electric. After graduating she moved to Denver to pursue her engineering career in the energy services industry. Megan is a Project Engineer for Dewberry focusing on retro-commissioning of existing buildings to identify and implement energy saving measures. Her work with Dewberry includes traveling from project site to project site and the flexibility of CSU Global allows her to keep up with school no matter what city or airport she is in. She chose to pursue a M.S. in Management specifically to achieve training and understanding more of the business world, and to develop project management skills necessary in her line of work.
Megan is dedicated to women achieving their full potential in their careers as engineers and leaders. She wants to inspire the next generation of girls to reach for their highest potential and consider technology and engineering by sharing experiences, passion, and expertise.
During her time at Cal Poly, Megan became heavily involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) holding leadership roles on all levels of the society. Her involvement with SWE has continued throughout her career, and next year she is slated to be the SWE Rocky Mountain Section President. Megan is excited to dedicate the upcoming year to serving CSU Global as the Student Representative on the Board of Governors, completing her degree, and helping grow the Energy Solutions business unit at Dewberry as a Project Engineer. Megan lives with her husband and cat in Littleton, Colorado. She loves playing golf with her husband, traveling the U.S. and the world for work and fun, and going to Australia to visit her family any chance she gets.
As part of her duties, Megan will attend all board meetings, be involved in Board committees, and attend Board social events. She will also be tasked with providing Board members an update regarding CSU Global from a student’s perspective. When asked why she was interested in taking on this role, Megan said, “The voice of students is commonly underrepresented during business discussions of educating institutions. I have acted before in many roles as an ambassador between students and organizations… While the online convenience of my degree is my main draw to the school, I would like to be involved on a face-to-face level where my actions and contributions can have a direct effect on the direction of the university.” You can contact Megan by emailing BOGStudentRep [at] CSUGlobal.edu. We would like to thank Brad Schiffelbein for serving as CSU Global’s Student Representative during the past year. Megan will begin her duties at the upcoming Board of Governor’s meeting in June.
