Matthew Brown, Ph.D.

Welcome to CSU Global’s M.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

AI is much more than the tools making headlines today. Our program is designed to help you understand the programming, algorithms, data, and machine learning principles behind the technology so you can build, apply, and evaluate AI solutions.

You’ll develop advanced technical skills while also learning to think critically about performance, ethics, and responsible use. Those foundations matter because the tools will keep changing.

Our goal is to help you leave the program ready to solve real-world problems and continue adapting as AI and machine learning evolve.

— Matthew Brown, Ph.D., Program Director

Program Details

What sets CSU Global’s AI and machine learning master’s degree apart?

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are changing fast. CSU Global’s online master’s program helps you build advanced skills in both while strengthening your foundation in programming, software development, and algorithms. You’ll study AI reasoning, computer vision, machine learning, and neural networks while learning how to apply these technologies to complex problems.

  • Go deeper in both AI and machine learning. Study supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, AI reasoning, computer vision, algorithms, and neural networks.
  • Put AI and machine learning to work. Apply what you learn to areas such as data mining, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, computer vision, and image processing.
  • Learn how the technologies work together. Build solutions that leverage both artificial intelligence and machine learning, then evaluate how well they perform.

Who is this AI and machine learning master’s program for?

CSU Global’s M.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is for students with a strong quantitative or technical background who want to expand their skills in AI, machine learning, programming, and software development. This program could be right for you if you are:

  • A technology professional who wants to stay current as AI and machine learning continue to reshape the field.
  • A programmer or software professional who wants to move deeper into AI reasoning, computer vision, algorithms, and neural networks.
  • Someone ready to specialize in AI and machine learning rather than pursue a broader computer science degree.

What skills will I gain with a master’s degree in artificial intelligence (AI) & machine learning?

  • Use principles and techniques associated with software development.
  • Apply artificial intelligence principles as needed for a given problem or scenario
  • Apply machine learning principles to solve a specific problem or scenario.
  • Develop solutions that are capable of modeling human behavior.
  • Implement a solution that combines artificial intelligence and machine learning principles.
  • Evaluate the performance of applications in artificial intelligence and machine learning domains.

A transformative journey that exceeded expectations

“With over 20 years in software, cloud, and cybersecurity, I came into this program looking to evolve—not to start over, but to build on what I’ve already done. What I found was a program that’s technically rigorous, thoughtfully structured, and genuinely aligned with where the field of AI is heading … I walked away with practical, hands-on experience that I’ve already begun applying in my work.”
