The scholarship application process for Fall 2012 is now open!
The deadline to submit your application is June 1, 2012.
Colorado State University-Global Campus provides financial assistance to its students in the form of institutional scholarships. These awards are presented by semester in the categories of community outreach, military service, and academic excellence. As an online public university, CSU-Global advances student success and invests in human capital by offering educational opportunities to a diverse population.
Multiple scholarships are available to assist you with university tuition costs for both online bachelor’s completion and master’s degree programs. These scholarship programs, in addition to CSU-Global’s low, guaranteed tuition rates and other available financial aid options, help make earning your degree and furthering your career more accessible than ever.
CSU-Global scholarships are available to both new and current students. New students should apply to the university and request a scholarship application from their Admissions Counselor after they are accepted to a degree program. Current students should contact their advisor to obtain a copy of the scholarship application. Please review the terms and conditions tab for more information. Scholarship applications MUST be submitted through the document center of your Student Portal to be considered. Email Scholarships@CSUGlobal.edu with any questions.
To be considered for any institutional scholarship from CSU-Global, applicants must meet these basic scholarship terms and conditions:
- Applicants must meet all of the university’s requirements for full admit status and be enrolled in a degree-seeking program.
- To be considered, applicants must complete the application in full, submit a verifiable letter of recommendation, and have a current FAFSA on file with CSU-Global (visit http://www.fafsa.ed.gov for more information). Additional criteria may apply for specific scholarship programs as listed further in this application.
- Scholarship award recipients will be determined solely by the CSU-Global Scholarship Committee. All decisions are final.
- Additional eligibility criteria may vary by scholarship program.
- Award amounts are calculated based on full-time status, as defined in the Academic Catalog: up to 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and up to 6 credit hours for graduate students per semester.
- Scholarships are awarded at the student’s lowest approved tuition rate after all other discounts have been applied.
- Employees of the Colorado State University System are not eligible for CSU-Global institutional scholarships.
- Award amounts apply for CSU-Global tuition only. Additional educational expenses are the responsibility of the recipient.
- Students are eligible to receive one scholarship each semester and award amounts apply to future courses only.
- Scholarship recipients must reapply each semester to be considered for subsequent awards.
- Recipients must be in Good Academic Standing with the university as defined in the catalog and maintain quality academic progress while being awarded the scholarship.
- Recipients must pay all student account balances prior to receiving scholarship awards.
- Scholarship recipients must maintain continuous enrollment.
- Policies are subject to change at the sole discretion of the scholarship committee or the university.

Academic Excellence Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes current CSU-Global students who have demonstrated exemplary focus and hard work in their educational endeavors by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher after at least one full semester at CSU-Global. Recipients will receive financial assistance to continue their education in their current degree program.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be current CSU-Global students with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and in good academic standing with the university.
- Applicants must have completed at least one full semester at CSU-Global (totaling 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and 6 credit hours for graduate students).
- The Letter of Recommendation should be written by a faculty member at CSU-Global.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of four scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
Business Owner/Entrepreneurship Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for students who are small business owners and entrepreneurs looking to gain the knowledge and education to further their business.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be the registered owner of an LLC or other incorporated enterprise with adequate proof.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate how earning their degree will improve their business.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
Community Leader Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate community involvement through their current mentor/volunteer work with a non-profit organization in the United States. Recipients of this scholarship will receive financial assistance to continue their education and improve their professional skills by earning their degree.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must currently mentor/volunteer with a non-profit organization in the United States that improves the lives of underserved populations (includes low-income students, teenagers, adults, etc.)
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of one scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester
Diversity Advocate Scholarship
This scholarship promotes an inclusive society in which unique backgrounds, identities, cultures, and perspectives are respected. Financial assistance is provided to a student who demonstrates leadership and engagement in a diverse world as well as celebrates this individual’s commitment to promoting awareness, education, and appreciation of diversity to the community.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicant must demonstrate how they promote diversity in their lives and community. This can be through race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, other underserved population group, or anyone in a position that encourages equal opportunities for all.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate how earning their degree will help promote diversity in their community.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of one scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
First Generation Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes an individual’s efforts to improve their community by being first in their immediate family to complete their degree. Recipients will receive financial assistance to complete the bachelor’s degree program of their choice.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be the first member of their immediate family (parents, spouse, children, and siblings) to attend a four-year college and must supply adequate proof.
- The Letter of Recommendation should be written by an immediate family member.
- Open for undergraduate students only.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
Law Enforcement Community Outreach Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes city, county, or state law enforcement personnel for their community contributions. Recipients of this scholarship will receive financial assistance to complete their online bachelor’s degree and improve their professional leadership and management skills.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be able to supply adequate proof of being currently employed in a city, county, or state law enforcement agency (includes department of correction).
- The Letter of Recommendation should be written by a fellow officer or supervisor.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
U.S. Military Active Duty Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes active duty U.S. Military personnel for their sacrifices to their country. Recipients will receive financial assistance in earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be an active duty service member in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, with adequate proof of such.
- Active Duty U.S. Military scholarship awards can be used in conjunction with military benefits.
- The Letter of Recommendation should be written by a commanding officer.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
U.S. Military Veteran/Military Dependent Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes U.S. Military personnel, including veterans and military spouse/dependents, for their sacrifices to their country. Recipients will receive financial assistance in earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be either an honorary discharged veteran or the spouse/dependent of eligible military personnel with adequate proof of such.
- Scholarship award cannot be used in conjunction with military benefits. Scholarship awards will apply for the student’s lowest eligible tuition rate only.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
CSU-Global Mission Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes working adults who embody the mission of Colorado State University-Global Campus by working to transform their lives and complete their degrees while balancing life obligations. Recipients will receive financial assistance to complete their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a convenient online learning environment and provide them with the opportunity to change, secure, and advance their careers.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate how they embody the CSU-Global mission.
- Open for both undergraduate and graduate students.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
Parent/Guardian Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any parent or guardian, married or single, who has made obtaining their degree a priority along with successfully raising a family.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be the parent or guardian of someone who can currently be claimed as a dependent for federal tax purposes.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate how earning their degree will improve their livelihood.
- Open for undergraduate students only.
- A maximum of two scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
Vocational/Technical School Outreach Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes graduates of a vocational or technical program who wish to continue their education in the business and organizational side of their chosen trade. Recipients will receive financial assistance to complete the bachelor’s degree of their choosing to advance their professional career.
Specific Criteria:
- Applicants must be able to provide adequate proof of the completion of a vocational or technical program/degree.
- Open for undergraduate students only.
- A maximum of one scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2012 semester.
