The intent of general education courses is to offer students new learning opportunities and to foster untapped interests in addition to meeting state standards.

The General Education Program at CSU-Global provides undergraduate students with the necessary curriculum for state general education requirements in writing and communications, mathematics, arts and humanities, history, social and behavioral sciences, and natural and physical sciences. Coursework offers a robust introduction to a variety of disciplines in order to accentuate the more specific coursework in each student's degree program.

This program provides a well-rounded, collegiate educational experience that encourages scholarship and research, personalized assessments, and an integrated approach to instruction that draws on several subjects.

gtPathways Guaranteed Transfer

gtPathways is a set of general education courses that the state guarantees for transfer within public institutions in Colorado. The curriculum consists of 31 semester hours of credit in five content areas. Receiving institutions must apply guaranteed general education courses to a student's general education or major requirements. Approved courses in gtPathways are not based on course equivalencies but meet content and competency criteria.

CSU-Global follows the gtPathways general education course requirements as required by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education Performance Contracts and Statewide Transfer Policies. Students residing in states other than Colorado may be required to take additional general education credits to meet their state’s general education requirements.
