Micro-credentials

Gain work-ready skills with CSU Global’s micro-credentialing initiative

CSU Global is proud to be part of a nationwide endeavor through Credential As You Go, awarding micro-credentials to students who have gained work-ready skills in their classes. These micro-credentials, represented as badges, serve as tangible proof of acquired skills, which can be used to highlight competencies to both current and prospective employers.

This program also serves as an on-ramp for inactive students to earn stacked certifications and follow a pathway toward their bachelor’s degree or work-ready credentials.

What Are Micro-credentials?

In a highly competitive job market, micro-credentials offer several advantages to individuals looking to develop new skills in a specific workplace area, as well as those who have completed some higher education but are not yet college graduates. They offer:

  • Quick and tangible proof — Employers can see the specific skills you’ve acquired, enhancing your marketability and employability.
  • Shareability — Micro-credentials can be shared as digital badges on your online portfolios, e-learning platforms, and social media profiles, including LinkedIn, the world’s largest business networking site.
  • A stepping stone — Micro-credentials and stacked certifications provide an achievable pathway toward degree completion and further work-ready credentials.

CSU Global Launches the Strategic Decision-Making and Communications Badge

CSU Global has designed a micro-credential to offer students who have completed relevant university coursework proving they gained competencies in strategic decision-making and communications. The Strategic Decision-Making and Communications badge recognizes skills in using data to drive organizational decision-making, leading change based on data-driven decisions, and communicating about an organization with different audiences.

Recipients of this badge are offered a pathway to further certification, their bachelor’s degree, and work-ready credentials. Badge recipients and prospective students are invited to connect with the enrollment team to discuss career-relevant degree and certificate programs, credit transfers, tuition rates, and financial aid.

Colorado Residents May Be Eligible For “Finish What You Started” Scholarships

CSU Global participates in the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) to help Colorado residents complete their undergraduate certificate or degree.

Individual initial grants for up to $5,000 in tuition support will be issued to eligible students who intend to complete their degree or certificate before June 2026, and additional support services are available to recipients.

CSU Global is proud to make college affordable and accessible to all. In addition to the COSI, we work to help all students take advantage of available financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, loans, and more. Please get in touch — we’d love to help support your pursuit of your undergraduate degree.
