In this course, evolving leaders explore the principles of organizational design including structure and purpose. Leaders also discover their personal leadership strengths in relationship to shaping organizations. Evolving leaders will apply these concepts to create their own adaptive organizations that will be a foundation for their entire program.

Students learn strategies, structures, and techniques for facilitating organizational change for competitive success in today's vibrant organizations. In this course, evolving leaders will analyze the roles of senior leader in decision making and strategy development. In the context of organizational advancement and leadership, students consider how their decisions and choices apply to the organization. Students also learn to apply practical problem solving and conflict resolution skills through decision-making tools and leadership approaches. In this course learners will consider how decisions are applied in organizational settings. Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills will also be practiced throughout the course.

In this course, evolving leaders explore the ethical considerations that guide and inform organizational decisions and strategies. Students learn the concept of Eco-Leadership and Organizational Social Responsibility (OSR) to understand and apply ethics from social, economic, and environmental perspectives.

This course is designed for the evolving leader and focuses on internal and external communication practices and strategies within organizational settings. Internal and external communications are considered. The focus is to apply essential components of professional writing and oral presentation concepts needed to lead organizations effectively. The communication covered in the course includes traditional and digital communication, culminating in the construction of an organizational communication plan.

In this course evolving leaders will examine executive leadership in organizations. The course identifies executive competencies that are beneficial to long-term organizational success. Topics explored include executive communication, developing organizational culture, problem solving, acquiring and promotion of key personnel, leading innovation and thinking globally; flexibility and resilience; and your future in executive leadership. Topics will be explored through conceptual and practical lenses.

Students learn to identify the actualities of organizational behavior and how to lead initiatives to the development of organizational policies.

In this course, evolving leaders integrate their learning from the core courses in the MSLOD and apply it to create a strategic leadership plan for their organization. Students demonstrate skills needed to be effective leaders in today’s global environment through the course activities that cover topics chosen to develop four main competencies needed by organizational leaders: leadership, organizational knowledge, relationship-building, and self-awareness. The course activities are synthesized for evolving leaders to build their strategic leadership plan.
