  • Hello _______, I see that you’re a professional in the _______ industry. I’m going to be graduating in 20XX and would love to have a conversation about the best ways to be successful as I enter the workforce. Thank you for your time!
  • Follow businesses that genuinely interest you and engage with their content. Liking a post is important, but make sure to comment as well.
  • Make sure to join your university’s LinkedIn group and don’t be afraid to post!
  • Join other LinkedIn groups specific to your industry. There are tens of thousands of different communities that cover every profession imaginable.
  • As you see content from people that sparks your interest don’t hesitate to add them to your network. However, make sure to include a note with your request! Be methodical with your network. Quality connections and relationships are far more valuable then randomly adding connections.
  • Be mindful of people’s privacy and time, but don’t be afraid to message them directly if you share similar goals and aspirations. Scheduling a one-on-one video meeting could lead to a great lifelong networking relationship.
  • As you grow your network make sure to post fresh content. What you post is very indicative of your personal brand. Recruiters and employers will review an applicant’s profile. What do you want them to see?
