Our online learning management system, Canvas, makes connecting and communicating with your instructors and classmates simple. Our faculty all have real-world, industry experience, allowing you to benefit from their expertise. They are attentive, accessible, and dedicated to your success, and are available by phone, email, and webform during normal business hours.
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with your classmates through email, course message boards, or group chats. Your peers are a great sounding board for collaboration, as well as a valuable resource to get and give feedback on assignments.
Your course materials are available online through Canvas. It’s mobile-friendly and an easy way to access everything you need for class.
Your course materials include interactive lectures, written materials, videos, critical thinking assignments, and mastery exercises that all work together to give you a comprehensive understanding of a particular subject area.
While our courses don’t have set class times or locations, each week you’ll need to submit discussion posts by Thursday and other assignments by Sunday. (This can vary by course, but your instructor will provide more detailed information.)

In this CSU Global mini-course, you will explore introductory data analytics ideas and career paths. You’ll also explore the learning platforms that CSU Global uses to help students succeed in taking 100% online courses that fit their schedules.
This specific mini-course is designed as an introduction to our Data Analytics program and the overall CSU Global student experience. The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with the common terminology, tools, ideas, career paths, and concepts in data analytics and consists of three modules.
The eight courses in the Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) are designed to introduce students to the concepts and tools needed for a career path in Data Analytics. Students should have specific knowledge of statistics, databases (SQL), and programming.
Module 1 covers basic data analytics terms and concepts and addresses the MSDA program’s content, admission requirements, and available supplemental courses.
Module 2 focuses on tools commonly used in data analytics careers and introduces information about these tools that instructors will expand upon in the full program. This module will discuss the various career options open to MSDA graduates.
In Module 3, you will explore the core concepts of data mining including industry vocabulary as well as the activities and process of data mining. You will learn the differences between business analytics and data mining as well as explore the nature and role of data science.
