CSU Global was the first independent, fully-accredited, 100% online state university in the country.

We are also part of the renowned Colorado State University System, which includes the flagship Colorado State University in Fort Collins and the Colorado State University-Pueblo campuses. Each of the three campuses are operationally separate with distinct missions, but are governed under the same CSU System Board of Governors.CSU Global is unique in that we do not rely on state funding and therefore are not included in the State Tuition Assistance program.

WHAT IS THE CSU GLOBAL COLORADO NATIONAL GUARD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM?

The CSU Global Colorado National Guard Scholarship is a tuition scholarship dedicated to our Colorado National Guard members (Army and Air) that is designed to support these students through their education journey at CSU Global.

The CSU Global National Guard program provides students with a scholarship that will cover 6 credits for undergraduate and 3 credits for graduate students per trimester, upon submission and approval of scholarship application materials each trimester. We also suggest that you consider applying for federal tuition assistance to determine what eligibility you may have through that TA program as well.

WHY ISN’T CSU GLOBAL PARTICIPATING IN THE STATE TA PROGRAM?

Based on Colorado statute, CSU Global is not statutorily included in the State TA program. Due to our State of Colorado ineligibility, we have created our own CSU Global scholarship program designed to specifically help the Colorado National Guard students.

ARE THE FUNDING LEVELS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP AND TA AWARD THE SAME?

The CSU Global National Guard scholarship does have a different award process and schedule from the State TA program. The scholarship will cover tuition funding for up to 6 credits per trimester at the undergraduate level ($1890 per trimester) or 3 credits per trimester at the graduate level ($1350 per trimester). Students must reapply to receive this scholarship each trimester for a total of 18 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits per year.

ARE THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP AND THE TA AWARD THE SAME?

The CSU Global National Guard scholarship does have a different eligibility process from the State TA program. The eligibility criteria include Colorado National Guard membership, Colorado residency, being a degree seeking student, and other criteria. Please see the scholarship page for detailed information.

ARE THERE OTHER SOURCES OF FUNDING BESIDES THE SCHOLARSHIP?

In addition to the scholarship program, you may be eligible to apply for federal military tuition assistance benefits, as well as federal financial aid. See CSUGlobal.edu/scholarships for other institutional scholarship you can apply for as well.

WHAT IF I WANT TO SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT INSTITUTION?

We understand that students may wish to choose an institution that is eligible to receive the State of Colorado TA funding, and we are here to help support you in making that decision and transition if that is the choice that you wish to make. Our number one priority is student success and we are here to support you in the best way that we can. Please contact the manager of tuition assistance at the Department of Military and Veterans affairs.
