For the 2020 Spring term, Colorado State University Global will introduce a new Bachelor’s of Science in Finance degree program, as well as a Graduate Specialization and Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
These programs both launch in the upcoming Spring-C term. They have been designed to provide students with a working knowledge of the various elements of artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, and software development. Students will learn to develop technical solutions for complex organizational problems with a strong emphasis on system analysis and design, which is representative of a market that’s growing rapidly in demand.
Students will complete the program having acquired a highly in-demand skill set. The demand for software developers and programmers will increase by more than 24 percent from 2016 to 2026, creating more than 302,500 new jobs (BLS, 2018).
The B.S. in Finance program will launch in the Spring-B term. This new bachelor’s degree is an opportunity to learn the principles of business and economics – including investments, corporate finance, financial markets, and financial management – from experienced and respected industry professionals.
This program also provides students with the opportunity to choose an emphasis for their studies:
- Corporate Finance will prepare students to serve as corporate financial analysts and careers in corporate finance.
- Financial Planning includes coursework to prepare for the CFP entrance exam and successful transition into the career of a financial planner.
There are, and will continue to be, high-earning jobs available in the finance industry. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job market for financial managers will continue to grow at a rate of 16 percent (faster than average for all occupations) from 2018-2028, with a median salary of $127,990 per year.
