Learn to manage financial operations with skill and professionalism through this program. You will learn detailed reporting, analyzing, forecasting, purchasing, investing, and other best practices that deal with funds, cash flow, and financial regulations.

Study modern theories and techniques used in today’s finance world to find solutions and results as precisely and efficiently as possible.

This program consists of four upper-division online finance courses for a total of 12 credit hours.

  • FIN510: Financial Economics

    This course is an introduction to financial economics. It will cover the analytical tools and finance theory necessary to make good investment decisions and to understand the paradigm of security valuation. Important themes in the course include individual decision making, risk and return, arbitrage, and market equilibrium.

  • FIN520: Financial Reporting and Analysis

    The course studies the process of business analysis and valuation through the evaluation of financial statements. Topics include analysis of financial statements and ratio, strategic, prospective, equity and credit analysis.

  • FIN560: Derivatives and Assets Pricing

    This course provides a broad introduction to derivatives strategies and implications including markets such as options, futures, and swaps that can be applied when managing a portfolio. Derivative securities play an integral part in managing risk for multinational corporations, portfolio managers, and institutional investors, as well as provide opportunities for speculators around the world.

  • FIN575: International Financial Management

    This course provides a comprehensive introduction and overview of the field of international finance. It covers the knowledge needed to manage the international aspects of multinational firms, the operations of international and foreign bank and financial institutions, and the operations of all firms, organizations, and individuals active in the current and future global business and financial environments.

  • Healthcare Administration and Management, Information Technology, and Interdisciplinary Professional Studies majors will take ACT305 in place of ACT300. 
  • Applied Social Science and Business Management majors will take ECN405 in place of Managerial Economics. 
  • Public Management majors will take ACT305 in place of FIN350. 
  • Business Management majors will take ACT325 in place of FIN400 and must have been initially enrolled after Fall 2012 to be eligible for this specialization.
