Greenwood Village, Colo. – Colorado State University Global ( is proud to announce its president, Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, has been appointed to the National Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Advisory Board. Part of the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C., the Board serves the needs of small businesses across the country by evaluating the aims, objectives, and goals of small business programs and promoting entrepreneurship and small business growth in the U.S. economy.

“It is a great honor to be appointed to serve on the Advisory Board,” said Dr. Takeda-Tinker. “I look forward to continuing to be an advocate for small businesses as they are a key component of national prosperity and individual American success. I also see this role as an opportunity to strengthen CSU Global’s ability to provide career relevant educational programs to the many self-starters, entrepreneurs, and small business owners we have as students.”

As a university that has experienced rapid growth and significant development since its inception in 2007, CSU Global has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passionate drive for high quality innovation not unlike many thriving businesses—large and small—around the world. In the appointment letter, Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration, stated that with Dr. Takeda-Tinker’s valuable counsel and support, “I believe we can do much to promote the growth of small business and private enterprise.”
