Representing CSU Global on a national stage, Vice President of Marketing Lauren Burns sat on a panel at the ASU + GSV Summit, May 8-10 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Burns spoke on the panel From Lead Gen to Student Retention: The Increasingly Mission Critical Role of Marketing in Student Success. In it, she discussed what the CSU Global marketing department is doing to improve student success. Drawing on her personal experience with marketing to, and enrollment processes for, adult learners, Burns shared her perspective on how new technologies and student populations are expanding the traditional approach to marketing in higher education.

The emerging population of adult learners is creating a new marketplace for universities to address with innovative marketing techniques. Universities now need to develop strategies on how to engage adult learners throughout the student lifecycle, starting with marketing online programs, recruiting and enrolling students into classes, and retaining them through student advising services. These tactics together need to create a cohesive student experience and ultimately drive student success through the entire student lifecycle.
