CSU Global and Denver Public Schools are partnering with the goal of increasing professional development opportunities for Denver Public Schools (DPS) educators who teach, or wish to qualify to teach, dual enrollment courses. According to the Colorado Department of Higher Education, high school students who take classes to earn college credit are 23 percent more likely to enroll in college.
To increase opportunities for DPS educators and students, CSU Global created a program that accelerates college-level coursework in english and mathematics to support credentialing for DPS teachers. Given that the coursework is online, teachers can complete the program without disrupting their lives and careers.
“We are pleased to partner on an important program that supports DPS teachers,” said Dr. Jon Bellum, CSU Global provost and executive vice president. “We want students to have access to dual enrollment courses, and the college-level courses in math and English created by CSU Global help ensure that DPS teachers have the credentials necessary to serve their students.”
