Colorado State University-Global Campus took part in Founders Day at the Colorado State Capitol on Thursday, February 9, 2017 to honor the 147th anniversary of the creation of the Colorado State University System. As part of the celebration, Dr. Tony Frank, chancellor of the CSU System and president of CSU-Fort Collins, Leslie Di Mare, president of CSU-Pueblo, and Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker, president of CSU-Global Campus hosted a breakfast celebration for legislators.
Formerly State Agricultural College, CSU in Fort Collins was founded on February 11, 1870 as the state’s land grant university. It became a system of schools in 2002 with the addition of CSU-Pueblo. CSU-Global was created in 2007 by the CSU System Board of Governors as the nation’s first statutorily defined, 100% online, state university. Today, all three universities are independently regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and each serves its distinct mission and student populations as part of the larger state university system.
