The next edition of Enlightening Talks is “Teaching Internationally” with Holly Martin on April 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Martin will discuss her experiences with teaching English Abroad, how to you can find the right program, and how to make the most of your experience teaching internationally.

Holly Martin attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, majoring in Spanish Education and Sociology. It had long been a dream of Holly’s to live in a Spanish-speaking country and teach English. A month before graduating, she found a volunteer program in Chile, through their Ministry of Education, and taught there for 10 months.

She then returned to the United States and worked as a school district translator, a middle school dual-language teacher, an ELL teacher, and a substitute teacher. After about a year and a half, she returned to Chile for another two-year volunteer teaching opportunity, which later opened the door to an independent, paid position there. Holly recently moved back to the U.S. and now teaches Spanish at Denver School of Science and Technology: Cole High School in Denver, Colorado.

Our monthly “Enlightening Talks” webinar series features guest speakers from a variety of career fields, sharing their experiences and industry knowledge with the CSU Global community.
