Dr. David Milen
Program Coordinator for Master of Healthcare Administration and Management
Dr. David Milen spent 10 years working as a firefighter/medic/training officer in Hammond, IN. He is currently serving as the Bioterrorism/Disaster Preparedness Coordinator in the Franciscan Alliance Health System. He played an integral part in the evacuation of one hospital while it flooded in 2007. His leadership in disaster preparedness within the Franciscan Alliance and the Region aided in the development of pandemic flu, Active Threat/Shooter, and emergency response policies throughout the northern Indiana region. He also spearheaded the Coalition for Emergency Response and the Northwest Indiana Patient Safety Coalition. Dr. Milen continues to consult with schools, hospitals, and public health/service agencies in the development of effective disaster preparedness programs.
Dr. Milen has earned a Ph.D. from Walden University, an Master of Science from Indiana State University, and a Master of Science in Public Health from Walden University. His specialization at Walden was in Public Policy and Administration/Public Safety.
